Education & Experience…

Dana Dirker is an interdisciplinary artist, art educator, and research consultant for ARAI, whose work is informed by traditional and contemporary art history. Dana earned her B.A. in Fine Art from Binghamton University and her M.A. in Art and Art Education from Teachers College, Columbia University. She is continually renewing her art historical knowledge and art practice through coursework with Rose Shakinovsky and Claire Gavronsky (collectively known as “rosenclaire”), with whom she has studied since 1995,  abroad in Italy and South Africa and most recently online. Dana's extensive knowledge in the field assists in her ability to professionally inspect works of art, identify materials and techniques, find and research their roots in art movements and interpret them in terms of current theory.  With her passion for education, she regards the appraisal document as a body of knowledge from which clients can learn about and build upon their collections.
