Education & Experience…
Cristina Urrutia received her B.A. and M.A. in Art History from the University of California Davis, CA. Her MA thesis focused on the reception of Antiquity in the Italian Baroque era and the reexamination of the classical nude form in Annibale Carracci's frescos in the Farnese Palace. From 2017-2021, she worked as curatorial assistant at the Crocker Art Museum, Sacramento, CA where she supported curatorial work for both temporary and permanent exhibitions and worked with collectors and contemporary artists. Her time at the museum culminated in her curation of Elsa Rady: The Edge of Elegance, an exhibition centered on the dynamic sculptures of American ceramicist, Elsa Rady. Her knowledge of art history, background in art historical research, organizational skills, and working knowledge of the contemporary art market are pillars to her work at ARAI.
